Our inspiration and purpose

For over 15 years, Hyndburn Friendship Circle has been dedicated to bringing people together.  Our core belief is in the power of connection to combat loneliness and anxiety, fighting depression and supporting mental well-being. 

We aim to provide a welcoming space for socialising, enjoying refreshments, and forging new friendships, helping to ease the pressure on our local NHS services.

Making a difference, one friendship at a time

Retirement can sometimes bring feelings of isolation, and for many, our group offers a vital lifeline – often being the only social interaction they have in a month. 

Our aim is to reduce loneliness, ease anxiety, and support emotional wellbeing through simple human connection.  By helping people feel supported and included, we play a small but meaningful role in improving mental wellbeing within the community.

We've seen first hand how the simple act of meeting new people and sharing a cup of tea can transform someone's outlook, helping them feel less alone and more connected to their community.

When you join Hyndburn Friendship Circle, we want you to feel completely relaxed and free to be yourself.  This is a space where you can bring your ideas, whether it's suggesting new speakers, planning exciting trips, or simply sharing a laugh.  We believe in fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and has the opportunity to contribute.

Our hopes for the future

We dream of expanding Hyndburn Friendship Circle, reaching more individuals in Great Harwood and becoming an even more significant source of warmth, friendship, and unwavering support within our cherished community.
